It has been announced that Cylch Meithrin Aberhonddu nursery will be shutting at Easter.
In a letter to parents, the impending closure was blamed on staff recruitment issues and “significant changes on the financial horizon”.
James said:
“It is very disappointing to see the closure of yet another educational establishment in our area.
“Good quality nurseries are so important for our children’s development, and I have big concerns about the reduced options for parents.
“This is also another blow to the Welsh language - we’ve already seen a national decline in Welsh speakers, and the poor provision of Welsh-medium education won’t reverse that trend.”
