Local Senedd Member James Evans has attended two events in the Welsh Parliament aimed at combating cancer. The first event was hosted by Macmillan, and the second by Cancer Research Wales.

Macmillan’s Coffee Morning at the Senedd was part of a global network of Coffee Mornings designed to raise money for the charity – on Friday 23rd September between 10am and 3pm, James will be hosting one at his office at 2 Penycamlais, Rich Way, Brecon, LD3 7EH.

Cancer Research Wales was established in 1966 and has to date invested over £20m in life saving cancer research.

James said:

“Macmillan and Cancer Research both do incredibly important work and it was great to meet their staff to discuss these issues.

“Raising awareness is important, but the Welsh Government need to do more to reduce cancer deaths – especially when 4 in 10 cancers in Wales are potentially preventable.

“If you’re in the area, I’d love you to join me at our Macmillan coffee morning at my Brecon office on Friday 23rd to raise some money and have a chat!”
