James Evans MS has once again questioned the Welsh Government on whether they plan to stand up for rural communities in the face of the industrialisation of our countryside.

In an exchange with the Cabinet Secretary for Economy Rebecca Evans MS, James highlighted the recent visit made to a windfarm by Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer and First Minister Eluned Morgan MS which has caused concern to many living across Brecon and Radnorshire.

In a discouraging response, the Minister stated the Welsh Government are on a journey to net zero and renewable energy will play a big part of that.

Speaking after the exchange, James Evans MS said:

“The plans being proposed in Mid Wales are on an industrial scale, and I have, and always will oppose these plans at every opportunity.  The cumulative impact of each project needs to be considered, as taken together, the scale of these developments will destroy communities and livelihoods as well as our countryside.

“All politicians that represent Mid Wales must join me in this fight to stop the industrialisation of Mid Wales and give voice to the concerns being raised by residents and communities. My opposition to this is well known, but others have remained somewhat silent on this.

“We cannot allow Welsh Labour Government to put large corporate interests and profits above the needs of communities. I will always stand up for my local area and its residents.”
