Responding to the new Welsh Government plans to eradicate Bovine Viral Diarrhoea, Shadow Rural Affairs Minister James Evans MS said:
“Whilst I welcome the efforts from Labour to stop the spread of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea, there are still far too many questions raised from the Cabinet Secretary’s statement.
“There is a lack of detail on the available support system for farmers and until those details are forthcoming farmers will remain uncertain.
“Farmers need assurances that the already significant financial and emotional impact of this disease is not exacerbated by Labour’s latest update.”
