James Evans MS says the people of Wales have been betrayed.
Speaking on ITV Sharp End, James Evans MS was critical of the recent announcement by the UK Government to regain closer ties once again with the European Union. James accused Labour, Plaid Cymru and the Liberal Democrats of all wanting to get back to the European Project and go further still. James Evans MS accused Labour and Plaid Cymru of ignoring the 2016 Brexit referendum which gave a mandate from the British people to leave the European Union.
James Evans MS said:
“Keir Starmer’s deal with the EU is a betrayal of Brexit. A botched deal by the UK Prime Minister that will surrender our sovereignty back to Brussels, lead to more interference from European Courts, result in more money being sent to the EU. This is not what people voted for in the 2016 referendum. The Prime Minister should be ashamed of himself for turning his back on the British people.
“We shouldn’t shackle ourselves to the European Union. We should be looking at trading with the whole world and emerging markets. Labour and Plaid Cymru are not interested in what the public voted for in 2016, they want to get back to that failed European project and have even more integration and even closer alignment!
“The British people voted to leave the European Union and that should be respected."
