Statement - Llanfihangel Rhydithon County Primary School

"Fay Jones and I are devastated for the community of Dolau that Powys County Council have taken the decision to continue with their proposed closure of Llanfihangel Rhydithon County Primary School. We both visited the school and met with parents and teachers and we shared their opposition to the proposal.
Our rural schools should be protected. We both deeply regret that this process has been managed during a time when the voices of the community have not been heard. From our visits and many meetings with parents and governors, we are convinced that Dolau is a thriving and positive school. We implore the Council to review this decision. James and I will continue with this fight to get this overturned."
